Most of the civilian population there were friendly, courteous, and wanted freedom...not all, but most. One thing that made me feel safe at night was Puff...the C-130 Gunship. There were 2 that would circle the base every night, all night long. The lead 130 would drop flares...the trailing 130 would follow about a mile back watching the area lighted by the flares. Every few minutes, you could see a red ribbon of tracers arc to the ground...followed shortly by the brrrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuiiiiiip sound of the guns. Even now, sometimes at night, I can close my eyes and still here those guns." Read more at www.liveleak.com/view?i=6ac_1435955060#fqaOgTxUEQjvdHCB.99
